Long Cedar Dough Bowl
Your Creation: “Long Cedar Dough Bowl”
This dough bowl was power carved from a limb of a large Red Cedar tree that fell during hurricane Ida in 2021. This large tree was located at the corner of Bell and N. White Street just off historic Esplanade Avenue near city park.
Cedar trees are very hardy and can easily live over 100 years. There are several varieties and are found all over N. America. Its thick foliage provides great protection and nesting sites for small birds. The wood is naturally resistant to insects and fungus, but is more commonly known for its grain, reddish colors and present aroma. It is traditionally used for fence boards but is also the wood of choice used for Hope Chests, cedar closets, cigar boxes and pencils.
This piece has been dried, carved and polyurethaned to accent the beauty of the natural colors. This piece was crafted for you in 2025, with you in mind.
