Window Coffee Table 2
Your Creation: “Window Coffee Table”
This furniture was custom made using an old reclaimed window as a table top and old cypress door and window framing as the sides to the storage base. The bottom of the storage compartment is made of old discarded oak floor boards pulled out of a dumpster on N Rendon St. near historic Esplanade Ave in New Orleans. The dark board in the storage compartment was cut from an old cypress floor board found floating in the Atchafalaya Basin near Lafayette, LA. The legs were made from old non-uniform framing lumber typically found in attics in old NOLA homes. Most of the outside of the table is the original paint colors that have been sanded to expose the layers of paint used throughout the history of each piece. You will notice old nail holes and mounting hardware / features, such as where door/shutter hinges were once fastened.
All of these materials used here were hand selected and crafted into this piece in 2019.
