Your Creation:  “Cross”

This Cross was custom made using reclaimed wood from a plantation style home on Bayou St. John in New Orleans.   That home was built in 1837 by the Blanc family that owned the first brick company in NOLA.  In the early 1900’s, it was donated to the Archdiocese of New Orleans Holy Rosary parish and has been serving as the church rectory ever since.  While jogging in the summer of 2020, I met the contractor doing a renovation on the building and he provided me with the wood they were discarding.  I am not sure how old it is, but if you look closely, you will notice distressed features and some of the original paint on the wood that I purposely left to show its history.

A Cross symbolizes a lot of things; but most importantly, God’s promise that through our faith and his aid, our sins will be forgiven and we will one day be united with Jesus and our family in eternal life.

This Cross has been crafted specifically for you and blessed by father Vincent Nguyen.  I hope you find a place to hang it in your house and find peace in knowing what it really symbolizes.
