Garden Birdhouse
This piece of decor was custom made using old discarded materials found in New Orleans. The 4 sides of this birdhouse were crafted from fence boards found in the mid-city area. The roof was made from very old round gutters that you can still find on historic NOLA homes. The garden stakes were found discarded on Moss St. on bayou St. John. The floor was made from an old window framing pulled from a dumpster on N White St. near historic Esplanade Ave. This piece of wood easily dates over 100 years old and still has the original paint that has been sanded to expose the different layers of colors used throughout its history. You may notice old nail holes or features where door/shutter hinges were once fastened.
All of these materials used were hand selected and crafted for you in 2021.
This is a garden accent that you will love; place this in your favorite garden to add a little extra charm to your outdoor world.
